Privacy policy

The short version

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are read, where visitors come from and how quickly pages load. The site does not set cookies of its own, uses no advertising networks, and does not use analytics to identify individual visitors.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a measurement service from Cloudflare, which also hosts the site. It is used to understand page views, which sites and links visitors arrive from, and site performance such as page load times. No other analytics service is used: there is no Google Analytics and no Plausible.

When a page is opened in a browser, Cloudflare adds a small script to it. The script measures how the page loaded and sends that measurement, together with information about the page, back to this site’s own domain, where Cloudflare processes it. According to Cloudflare’s documentation, the reports include the page path, the referring site, the visitor’s country, device type, browser and operating system, and page load performance.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not record query strings, does not use client-side state such as cookies or localStorage to collect usage metrics, and does not fingerprint individuals. The reports available to this site are aggregate statistics. How long Cloudflare keeps this data is set by Cloudflare; its documentation and its privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy describe how it handles data.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and no advertising cookies are used. As noted above, Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies to collect usage metrics.

Third-party content

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). As with any web request, Google receives standard technical information such as your IP address when your browser fetches them. Apart from these fonts and the Cloudflare Web Analytics script, the pages include no third-party trackers, advertising networks, social widgets or embedded players.

Server logs

Like any website, this site is served by a hosting provider that may keep standard technical request logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. Those logs are created by the host, not by this site, and are not used here to build any profile of you.
